DONATE
By donating to Douglas Gardens, your contribution will be utilized to further develop our peer support program. Peers provide a unique perspective as they show “recovery is possible.” Our goal would be training 3 peers over the course of 6 months and aiding in securing employment through our Supported Employment program.
Peer’ s Provide:
- Hope that a better life can be achieved.
- An example from someone who has experienced similar challenges.
- Development of relationships.
- An impact to the communities where they reside
How Funds Will be Used
- The funds will allocated to enhance peer support services. The donation will assist in developing programs for the peers to learn the skills necessary to become certified as Peer Support Specialists.
- The agency does not have a funding source for this purpose although we are required to employ peers in the workplace. A peer is an individual who is in receipt of mental health services and has reached a stable level of functioning whereby they are able to act as a mentor and role model.
