About Us
Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health Center of Miami Beach, Inc. has been in operation since 1979 and provides a full range of assessment, treatment (outpatient, medical/psychiatric and social rehabilitation), employment services and case management services for mentally ill individuals living in the Greater Miami Beach and North Miami area of Miami-Dade County. Additionally, we operate residential facilities for adults and older adults requiring oversight and support from trained mental health providers. The Center is staffed by psychiatrists, a pharmacist, mental health professionals, domestic violence specialists, substance abuse counselors, peers, an employment counselor, and certified case managers.

Douglas Gardens CMHC is the primary mental health provider under contract with the Florida Department of Children and Families to provide mental health services to low-income and disabled persons residing in Miami Beach and North Miami, is certified to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs, and has been accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) since 1996. It also serves individuals with substance use disorders combined with mental health conditions.
Douglas Gardens CMHC has been providing comprehensive mental health services to homeless individuals who are mentally ill as well as those who are dually diagnosed with mental illness and substance disorders since August 1992. The Center’s Homeless Services Programs currently consist of the following: Partners for Homes, the Mayfair Residence, Hope Garden, Right Directions, Moving Forward. An additional subsidized apartment program supported by the continuum of care for homeless services consists of one program, Oak Grove Supportive Housing.
The Center’s homeless programs offer the following services to individuals enrolled based upon individual need: psychiatric evaluation and medication management, case management, individual and group therapy, physical health assessment and referrals for medical care, referral to educational/vocational programs for those eligible to work, supportive employment and assistance with job placement, legal issues, and skills necessary to maintain independent living.
